Dear Mr. Ortiz,
Since your announcement to run for Elgin City Council, we have paid great attention to the goals and vision you’ve presented both to our members as well as the community. In particular, you’ve promoted your belief in bolstering public safety and that has not gone unnoticed by us.
The Elgin Firefighters are ready to assist you in your vision for the City of Elgin. Raised in Elgin inside a Union household, you understand the issues that are important to all citizens. As a US Marine, you earned a title forged by unshakable principles. Along with your history of involvement and engagement with the community, this City will be served well by the integrity and values of which you undoubtedly bring.
On behalf of the hard working men and women of IAFF Local 439, I am pleased to announce our endorsement for your candidacy of Elgin City Council. Please let us know how we can assist as we look forward to working with you!
IAFF Local 439
On behalf of the affiliates of the Fox Valley Building and Construction Trades Council, it is with great pride and pleasure that I announce our organization's endorsement of your candidacy for the Elgin City Council.
We appreciate your understanding of the value of utilizing union tradespersons on Cityendorsed construction projects. As we all know, the City of Elgin and the region as a whole benefit in many ways when these projects are completed on time, under budget, and safely by the highly skilled and experienced tradespersons of the unionized building trades. Many of these tradespersons live in Elgin or the surrounding areas, which means that the City's carefully considered investment in union-led construction reaps even more rewards for our communities.
We value and respect your commitments with us. As such, we look forward to working with you in your term on the City Council, during which you will enjoy our continued support.

It is my great pleasure to endorse your candidacy to be elected to the Elgin City Council. Your dedication to your country having served in the military, your commitment to the community through your volunteer work, and your work ethic make you the best candidate for the job!
Prior to meeting you in person, I was impressed by your dedication to the veterans in our
community. I would often see you post about the effects that military service had on people. I saw your fight to have the service of Marine Corporal Alex Martinez recognized by naming a street after him. It is one of your missions to ensure that veterans are cared for in the best possible way. Having someone on
the Elgin City Council who is dedicated to making the lives of those who served our community is instrumental in making our community better.
Upon meeting you, I was struck immediately by your loyalty to your family, your friends and
your community. Your evenings and weekends are not spent relaxing after a long work week. Rather, you attend meetings, you advocate for individuals, and you help to bring attention to issues affecting your community. This is the true nature of your character and what sets you apart from other politicians – you
are truly running to make a difference in your community.
Lastly, I have had the privilege to work side by side with you at the State’s Attorney’s Office
during my two and half months as the newly elected Kane County State’s Attorney. Recently, I was able to award you with the 2020 Employee of the Year award. That award was given at the recommendation of your co-workers who overwhelmingly voiced their admiration of your hard work. If someone asks you to complete a task, you do so quickly and completely. It is for these reasons that I proudly endorse you in your election to be elected to the Elgin City Council. I am confident that you will do the most for your community when you win again!
